Earlier this week, I was delighted to welcome a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the World Health Organization to discuss the establishment of a State Health Workforce Registry. This meeting is coming at an appropriate time given the recent launch of the National Policy on Health Worker Migration.

As I often say, healthcare workers are the backbone of our health system. No amount of infrastructure or technology can replace their expertise and dedication. A strong health workforce is essential to delivering quality healthcare and improving health outcomes.

The Rivers State government is committed to strengthening the health system, not only for patients but also for healthcare workers and we look forward to collaborating to strengthen the health workforce in Rivers State and nationwide.
